Island Students Reach Final of Global Art Competition Two students from the Isle of Man have been named finalists in a prestigious international art competition.

Daniel Lawrie and Lula Thomas, both from Ballakermeen High School, will represent the Island in the Global edition of the Sovereign Art Foundation’s annual prize for secondary school students.

The competition recognises emerging talent from around the world, with £4,300 in grants available for the winning artists and their schools.

Eighteen finalists from regions including Gibraltar, Guernsey, Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Malta, Portugal, and Cyprus have been shortlisted.

Each earned their place by winning their regional competition, either through a public vote or selection by a judging panel.

All shortlisted works are now featured in an online exhibition, which runs until 1 May when the winners will be announced.
