The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it has successfully completed the repatriation of Greeks that had been trapped in Israel since the start of the most recent Iran-Israel crisis, as of Wednesday, June 18.
The repatriation of 105 Greek citizens and their family members was coordinated between the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Greek Embassies in Tel Aviv and Cairo, and the Consulate General of Greece in Jerusalem.
The individuals were transported to Athens from Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, aboard C-130 and C-27 aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force.
This flight also facilitated the return of citizens from EU member states and third countries, including Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Georgia, Switzerland, the USA, Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, and Sweden.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Greece’s diplomatic and consular missions in the region, remain on full alert to provide all possible assistance.
